Project Description

The students of The School of Music at Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica recently received violins and violas donated by Canadian donors. The first and second year students had been eagerly awaiting the instruments to arrive and were beyond happy and excited to start practicing.

A little village of Canadians joined forces to make this happen including Ann McNamee of Edna Manley, Jason Lu of Infiniti Strings and a number of other donors and supporters. Dean Roger N. Williams expressed his appreciation saying: “The college, and specifically, the School of Music is happy for the contribution and will ensure that the instruments are used to develop music education in Jamaica”.

Food For The Poor Canada is seeking donations of new and used musical instruments, filling the needs of youth bands and orchestras in Jamaica. You can also help us provide more educational supplies by making a cash donation here
