Hurricane Dorian – Donate To help with FFPC’s Emergency Response

DONATE

Food For The Poor is working with trusted partners to provide emergency response to Hurricane Dorian, an incredibly strong Category 5 hurricane with winds of up to 220 Km an hour. FFP US has relief supplies ready to send including two-burner gas stoves,  tarps, cleaning supplies and personal care items. We need more tarps to provide emergency relief to the devastation that Dorian will leave behind affecting thousands of Bahamians.

In the Bahamas, we are currently active in the community of Abaco, where we support a school for children with mental and physical challenges.

Update: We have been unable to reach anyone in that community today, the phones are down, and we continue to reach out to monitor the situation.

As soon as we understand their urgent and immediate needs, we will determine how best we can help. We have several million water purification tablets thanks to the generous support of Scotiabank. We also have access to tarpaulins. From previous disaster relief experiences in Haiti, Jamaica and Dominica, we know both save lives.

A 20’x20′ tarpaulin for $15 provides a family with temporary relief protecting them from extreme conditions and preventing further damage to their home.

Canadians can help by supporting us with funds for tarpaulins here:
